We Chinese people generally have this problem of living on a stepping stone throughout our lives. In high school, we didn't like studying at all, studying just to get into college; once we got into college, we felt accomplished, seeing high school as a stepping stone. In college, we also didn't like attending classes; we endured it just to find a job, and once we found a job, everything was great again, another stepping stone. When we start working, we also hate the job, enduring it just for marriage and children; once we have a family, life feels complete, and work is yet another stepping stone. After getting married and having children, it's needless to say, right? A vicious cycle of stepping stones.
