Eric Trump, the second son of Donald Trump, will appear in Hong Kong! Hong Kong media: Hong Kong and the United States are competing for the position of Crypto Assets center.
Eric Trump, the second son of former U.S. President Donald Trump, will deliver a speech at the "Bitcoin Asia 2025 Conference" in Hong Kong from August 28 to 29, highlighting the rising influence of Bitcoin and Hong Kong's strategic position in the Crypto Assets sector. With Hong Kong promoting crypto-friendly legislation and sparking interest in Bitcoin's status in the financial sector, this event is of great significance.
As an active advocate for Bitcoin and financial investments, Eric will serve as the keynote speaker, creating investment opportunities for institutional and individual investors. Although this conference does not directly promote financial projects, it generally enhances media attention and local trading activity. He has stated, "The golden age of Bitcoin is coming," which demonstrates his influence in the community.
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), Hong Kong is striving to position itself as a leading digital asset center, competing with the United States.
Conference organizer BTC Inc announced on Tuesday (July 8) that Eric will discuss the "long-term potential" of Bitcoin and its impact on global finance, as well as "how Asia is shaping the future of Bitcoin adoption."
Asia is the regional version of the Bitcoin conference and one of the largest Crypto Assets events in the world. It was first held in Hong Kong in May last year, when Hong Kong was actively developing its digital asset industry.
BTC Inc. CEO David Bailey stated that Eric is the co-founder of the Bitcoin mining company American Bitcoin and the Trump family-supported World Liberty Financial (WLFI) initiative, and he "is becoming one of the industry's most powerful advocates on the international stage."
Trump's participation comes at a time when Hong Kong is intensifying its efforts to become a global leader in digital assets, and Hong Kong is engaged in direct competition with the United States, while his father's administration is committed to establishing the United States as the "global crypto assets capital."
In June this year, Hong Kong released the "Hong Kong Digital Asset Development Policy Statement 2.0," which is a follow-up action to the blueprint released at the end of 2022, outlining Hong Kong's intention to strengthen its digital asset sector.
According to the policy statement from the Hong Kong Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau last month, in response to the "evolving global digital asset" landscape, Hong Kong is committed to achieving "new heights of global digital asset leadership."
As both jurisdictions are promoting the legalization of stablecoins (cryptocurrency tokens typically pegged to fiat currencies like the US dollar), the competition for first-mover advantage is intensifying.
Stablecoins were initially traded mainly among cryptocurrency enthusiasts and are now seen as a potential major cross-border payment tool that can provide a faster and cheaper alternative to the current banking system.
Last year, Bitcoin Asia attracted over 5,500 participants at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal. This year's event will be held from August 28 to 29 at the Wanchai Convention and Exhibition Center, and the public can enter for free.
